The Ultimate Cold & Flu Smoothie
Yep it’s been a particularly cold winter with a lot of people going through their second or third flu. When we feel lousy we need something that is both medicinal yet pleasant. This smoothie packs in many superfoods to flush out your congestion but has enough yum factor to enjoy as well. Full of healthy vitamins, minerals, fats, protein and proven flu busting remedies, this smoothie will blast you with goodness. Ditch the drugs and drink this!
This recipe will make one blender jug full and it’s recommended you drink the entire jug throughout the day if you are unwell or sense a cold is coming on.
Handful baby spinach leaves
1 orange, peeled
3/4 cup frozen berries
1 small cucumber
1 small knob ginger
1 small knob turmeric (or 2 tsp turmeric powder)
3 tsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp green barley powder (or vital greens, spirulina etc)
2 tsp nut butter
2 tbsp coconut yoghurt (or coconut oil)
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 tsp powdered organic probiotic powder
2-3 cups coconut water (depends on size of your blender jug)
Blend well. Serve in the funkiest glass you have so it makes you smile.
